Drunk At Comp

Survey proves that nearly half of Britons do online shopping while drunk.

Imagine, 43 percent of respondents said they go to e-shop sites after having alcohol. And a quarter of them would not make purchases, if they had not had a drink. A fifth of them do not remember that they were buying anything on the Internet.

The most popular among drunk buyers are becoming garments, shoes and video games. They also buy books and movies on DVD discs. One respondent even admitted that he once drank, purchased a sea-boat online.

Owners of conventional stores have already evaluated the possible profit from the fact that a client is a little tipsy. So, on sales and presentations of new collections potential buyers are offered free drinks - usually champagne, beer and other law alcoholic beverages.

According to various studies, the peak of user activity on the most popular internet auction site eBay accounts for 6:30 - 10:30 p.m. or from 8:00 p.m. till 2 a.m. local time. In the first case, psychologists explain the peak by the fact that people come at this time from work and relax, in particular on the web. In the second case, the peak may be due to the fact that people coming from bars, sit at the computer, as tempted to buy something.
