Theatre (or theater) is a branch of the performing arts. While any performance may be considered theatre, as a performing art, it focuses almost exclusively on live performers creating a self contained drama.
The first recorded theatrical event was a performance of the sacred plays of the myth of Osiris and Isis in 2500 BC in Egypt.
The ancient Greeks began formalizing theatre as an art, developing strict definitions of tragedy and comedy as well as other forms, including satyr plays. Like the religious plays of ancient Egypt, Greek plays made use of mythological characters. The Greeks also developed the concepts of dramatic criticism, acting as a career, and theatre architecture.[6] In the modern world these works have been adapted and interpreted in thousands of different ways in order to serve the needs of the time. Examples are offered by Antigone, used in 1944 by Anouilh to make a statement about the Nazi occupation of France, and by Brecht in 1948, likening Creon to Hitler and Thebes to defeated Germany.

Ballet is a formalized type of performance dance, which originated in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th century, and which was further developed in France, England, and Russia as a concert dance form. The early performances preceded the invention of the proscenium stage and were presented in large chambers with most of the audience seated on tiers or galleries on three sides of the dancing floor. It has since become a highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary. It is primarily performed with the accompaniment of classical music. It has been influential as a form of dance globally and is taught in ballet schools around the world, which use their own cultures and societies to inform the art. Ballet dance works (ballets) are choreographed and performed by trained artists, include mime and acting, and are set to music (usually orchestral but occasionally vocal). It is a poised style of dance that incorporates the foundational techniques for many other dance styles.
Ther are at least five styles of ballet: Ballet d'action, Classical ballet, Contemporary ballet, Neoclassical ballet, and Romantic ballet. And there at least three ballet technique: French ballet, Russian Vaganova method, Italian Cecchetti method.
I personally love ballet more than theater and opera performances. In my view ballet synthesizes music which in some cases could play independent role (remember P. Tchaikovsky) , theater because of action and interior and costume design. And of course, ballet has strong sexual components which lack all theater and music performances. Beauty of the human body, in most cases almost naked, sexual and finished by long and hard training movements. It's real beauty of women's and men's bodies.

Circus is a performance that acrobats, clowns, trained animals, trapeze acts, musicians, tightrope walkers, jugglers, unicyclists and other stunt-oriented artists give in an arena. I like it because its atmosphere, sounds, smell, specific nervous impulse reminds me my childhood.
